For Amazon sellers looking to promote their products, understanding how to interpret Amazon Advertising Impressions is essential to their business.
In this blog, we will examine what Amazon Advertising Impressions are, why they’re crucial for your Amazon business, as well as four ways to increase impressions on Amazon, and how to solve common issues with Amazon impressions for advertisers.
Amazon Advertising impressions are an essential metric to pay attention to when looking to drive success on the platform. Amazon Advertising Impressions are the number of times a potential customer has seen your ad. Impressions measure your ad’s exposure and the number of potential customers exposed to your message.
It is important to understand your impressions as it can be used to determine the success of your Amazon campaign and what tactical changes you need to make. Improving impressions on Amazon is key to increasing sales. With increased impressions (if targeted correctly) comes an increase in CTR (click-through rate), higher CR (conversion rate), and ultimately, increased organic sales.
First and foremost, impressions act as an indication of the success of your Amazon marketing campaign. They can be particularly useful for tracking ROI and providing insights into customer behaviors and reactions.
Ways to increase your impressions on Amazon
Now that you know why impressions are so important for your Amazon business, here are ways to increase your impressions on Amazon:
1. Keyword selection:
Personally, I would attribute 80% of Amazon advertising to correct keyword selection. You have a category, then you have a sub-category, and within that sub-category, you have a product that has some specific attributes, plays on your strengths when starting out, and gradually expands your keywords further. Use all available resources to find out keywords. For your ad campaigns to appear and generate impressions, the keywords should relate to your product listing page. The same applies to long-tail keywords and synonyms.
2. Manage your Bids:
Out of all platforms that I run Ads on, Amazon has the most complicated bidding algorithm, and yet, it’s so beautiful. Don’t push them so low that you barely get any impression, don’t push them as high as snoop dogg. Keep them to the level where you are getting affordable impressions/sales.
3. Use Advanced Advertising Strategies:
Utilize Amazon’s advanced advertising strategies, such as automatic and manual targeting, match types, and sponsored product placement. Auto has different bid cost/impressions than manual; manual broad has a different impression than a phrase, and the phrase has a different cost/impression than exact. You should be able to analyze each target’s performance and see where it is more efficient. Some keywords are better left in phrase match and sometimes in Auto.
4. Keep an Eye on Your Campaigns:
Being vigilant about monitoring and optimizing your campaigns is crucial to seeing the best results from your Amazon Advertising campaigns. Make sure to check your dashboards and reports often to identify areas to optimize advertising.
By understanding the importance of impressions and mastering the techniques to increase and optimize your ad campaigns, Amazon sellers can ensure they’re getting the most out of their Amazon Advertising.
